Our students enjoy learning how to do these activities and take care of their environment. At the end of each day our students take turns doing various chores such as feeding class pets, watering plants, dusting shelves, sweeping floors, vacuuming, taking out the trash, washing tables/chairs, folding towels, etc. 1:00pm – 2:30pm Montessori Work Period 2:30pm – 3:00pm Chore Time Unique to the Montessori environment is a time for students to learn to take pride in what is theirs – the classroom. Our Kindergarten Lessons follow the curriculum outline, which can be found on the Kindergarten page of our website. Preschool Lessons have a theme of the week/month and begin with a story, discussion and have an art project to support the lesson. This portion of our Kindergartners’ day consists of group lessons with focuses in Culture/Geography, Language, Handwriting & Journaling, Math and Science. 11:00am – 12:00pm Recess / Lunch Rotation 12:00pm – 1:00pm Afternoon Group Lesson Our preschool and Kindergarten Group Lessons are designed to equip our students in learning in a large group setting for school environments they may experience after graduating from Absorbent Minds. We also introduce our monthly/weekly themes and give group Montessori presentations. Then we say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing our Days of the Week & Months of the Year songs to determine the date. ![]() When the music starts our students clean up and take their place on the line.ĭuring our “line” we sing our Good Morning song and welcome each other with a handshake. Depending on the classroom, work time will begin or end with “Morning Line Time” Classical music signals to our students Line Time is about to begin.
